BLCCA Academy 2017: Where local and bilateral Chambers meet

On 31st May and 1st June, representatives of more than 20 Belgian Chambers of Commerce abroad gathered in Belgium for their annual meeting. This year, the province of Brabant wallon, and in particular the competence centre around Louvain-la-Neuve, was the venue of this meeting.

Through this annual initiative, the Federation of Belgian Chambers of Commerce provides its members with the opportunity to better know the economic assets of Belgium. In close cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brabant wallon, an intensive and varied programme had been developed, including a corporate visit to IBA, world leader in proton therapy machines for cancer treatment, a visit to the Louvain-la-Neuve science parks and an illustration of the internationalization of the Belgian food industry by the sectoral federation FEVIA.

This year, more than 60 participants responded. They represented 23 bilateral Chambers – from the Netherlands and Germany, through Morocco to Pakistan and Japan – as well as the various local Chambers of Commerce in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In addition, we were able to count on the presence of representatives of the regions and the FPS Foreign Affairs.

BE DELICIOUS "Belgian Food Artisans"

BE DELICIOUS  "Belgian Food Artisans" is a new initiative to promote the rich Belgian culinary tradition. Belgium has much to offer in the area of gastronomy, including a rich tradition of varied and delicious food and beverages, an exuberant dining culture and a welcoming attitude.

BE DELICIOUS has developed a special concept for anyone who wants to enjoy the taste of Belgian food and beverage wherever they are abroad! It is an excellent opportunity for BLCCA.

BE DELICIOUS gathers a group of 25 artisan producers who excel in a selection of tasty and refined Belgian dishes and products. They are enthusiastic entrepreneurs with a passion for craftsmanship and traditional methods of preparation with a modern twist.

They choose only the best starting materials. Locally caught fish and local farm produce, which have a tradition in the region, provide high-quality ingredients.
These Belgian Food Artisans want to share their passion and pride for their regional cuisine with the rest of the world!
BE DELICIOUS presents you an “aperitif to dessert” set menu, finely selected from the range of the artisan producers that BE DELICIOUS brings together.
Each product has a suggested quantity per person (understood as a “reception portion”). You can order your selection of products for groups of 50 people (so for 50, 100, 150 people, etc.).
BE DELICIOUS puts this all together for you in a package that is shipped to your chosen delivery address. BE DELICIOUS will enclose instructions on how to prepare the various items for you or the caterer that is working with you.

If you are interested, BE DELICIOUS will be pleased to prepare a tailor-made suggestion (depending on your choice of products/ meals, transport costs will vary according to the destination).
For destinations outside of the European Union (EU-28 countries), BE DELICIOUS will look at whether the products you are interested in can be imported in your destination country.
BE DELICIOUS currently focuses on the EU-28 countries.
In Belgium, BE DELICIOUS works in close cooperation with caterer Den Tauwe on event catering formulas.
On BE DELICIOUS website you can find more information about this package offer for Belgian event catering.
