BLCCA Academy 2017: Where local and bilateral Chambers meet
On 31st May and 1st June, representatives of more than 20 Belgian Chambers of Commerce abroad gathered in Belgium for their annual meeting. This year, the province of Brabant wallon, and in particular the competence centre around Louvain-la-Neuve, was the venue of this meeting.
Through this annual initiative, the Federation of Belgian Chambers of Commerce provides its members with the opportunity to better know the economic assets of Belgium. In close cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brabant wallon, an intensive and varied programme had been developed, including a corporate visit to IBA, world leader in proton therapy machines for cancer treatment, a visit to the Louvain-la-Neuve science parks and an illustration of the internationalization of the Belgian food industry by the sectoral federation FEVIA.
This year, more than 60 participants responded. They represented 23 bilateral Chambers – from the Netherlands and Germany, through Morocco to Pakistan and Japan – as well as the various local Chambers of Commerce in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In addition, we were able to count on the presence of representatives of the regions and the FPS Foreign Affairs.
